Business finance templates
See whether the business is really making money and keep the cash drawer honest, with spreadsheets set up for US dollars, US dates and Letter paper.
These templates are for owners of small businesses who want a clear picture of the numbers between visits to the accountant. The profit and loss statement puts revenue, cost of goods sold, operating expenses and net income side by side for each month of the year, with a year-to-date column and a separate summary of gross and net margin.
The cash book is the day-to-day companion: every cash receipt and payment on its own line, a balance that carries forward, and a count sheet for bills and coins that tells you straight away whether the drawer is short.
Both files use the dollar sign, mm/dd/yyyy dates and Letter paper, and work in Excel, Excel for Mac, Google Sheets and LibreOffice without macros. Download the .xlsx or make a copy in Google Sheets and replace the sample figures with your own.
